ColdFusion Job Opportunity in Dallas, TX

We have an IMMEDIATE NEED for a ColdFusion Developer!  This is a long-term, contract opportunity located in North Dallas, Texas.

DUTIES:

  1. Develop workable application solutions to business problems.
  2. Design, develop, upgrade, test, implement, and document software components of client applications.
  3. Assess, create, enhance and detail administrative, operational and technical policies and procedures.
  4. Work independently and/or within teams throughout all phases of the development lifecycle.
  5. Assist in resolving application problems and defects.
  6. Develop and maintain technical documentation and guidelines.
  7. Perform unit testing.
  8. Participate in peer code reviews.

US CITIZEN REQUIRED

REQUIREMENTS

  1. 3 to 5 years experience in ColdFusion and related technologies with a strong foundation in software engineering principles.
  2. Knowledge of CF 8 (ColdFusion version 8) Enterprise features, AIR and Flex.
  3. Knowledge of Internet, intranet, and extranet systems design (security, content management, eCommerce, web, and application servers).
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a MUST.
  5. Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand.
  6. Knowledge of IT governance and operations.

DESIRED:

  1. User interface experience a plus!

EDUCATION:

  1. 4 year degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

In this position, you will work within a small team committed to work on custom internal web tools and applications.  This role will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of internal web applications designed to support a variety of mission critical web applications and services.
 
In this role you will:

  • Work within company SDLC implementing internal and external web applications
  • Write SQL queries, dynamic queries and optimize queries
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of Microsoft technologies
  • Demonstrate problem solving and debugging skills
  • Work closely with business and IS analysts to identify and scope development requirements
  • Provide web user interface design and architecture advice
  • Maintain code library and version control platform
  • Perform new product development and support work
  • Work with DB2 development teams on application integrations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in CIS (Computer Information Systems), Computer Science, or similar
  • 5+ years' experience with software development
  • 3+ years’ experience working with and developing web sites using ColdFusion
  • 3+ years’ experience with database design and development  (SQL server 2003-2008)

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have ASP.NET, .Net,  IIS and HTML experience
  • Must have working knowledge of ColdFusion frameworks
  • Strong background with user interface design
  • Strong background in web application architecture
  • Experience with backend development

Competencies and preferred skills:

  • Experience with IBM DB2 preferred
  • Experience with SSIS preferred
  • Experience with .Net, C# and Visual Studio preferred
  • Sharepoint experience desired
