Title: Sr ColdFusion Developer (DBA, Flex, BlazeDS, Adobe, MS, SQL server 2005/2008) Position: Seeking an advanced-level developer who lives to push ColdFusion and Object-Oriented Web development to the edge.
Job Description:
- Sr. Web Developer/Architect to drive the direction of the company's technology solutions, define and implement best practices and build lean, powerful and extensible functionality.
- Work closely with Business/Systems Analysts, Database Administrators, and Stakeholders to architect, design, and implement robust and user friendly insurance business applications.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of object-oriented Web applications based upon best practices.
- Ensure proper operations and intelligent enhancements of existing Web-based products and services.
- Ensure development consistency and strive for continued development innovation.
- Maintain best practices to meet current goals as well as assist in adapting future changes in technology and business practices.
- Help assess risk related to technology and resource, and assist in minimizing that risk.
- Utilize skills with Adobe technologies, mainly focused but not limited to ColdFusion, Flex, BlazeDS.
- Work with DBA and other developers to design databases. Use Transact-SQL to write database stored procedure on MS SQL server 2005/2008.
- Draft technical documentation and workflow diagrams.
- Conduct demonstration of software to business units and clearly explain features to the common users.
- Assist in project initiation, estimation and planning, and utilize SharePoint for collaboration with project team.
- Report status to management and maintain regular attendance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in relevant major.
- Sr. P/A Position: Minimum 8 years of relevant software design and development experience, two years in a technical lead role.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of ColdFusion Best Practice and Design Patterns.
- Passionate about creating excellent products and innovative features.
- Self motivated with excellent analytical and troubleshooting experience.
- Strong understanding of complex SQL database-driven products.
- Well versed with JavaScript, CSS, XML, DHTML, AJAX, and other Web standard languages.
- Advanced knowledge of OO Frameworks such as MVC and FuseBox.

Our client is looking to identify a Senior level Application Developer from TEKsystems that has practical hands-on experience in each phase of the SDLC. They will need to work with the end users to analyze the existing application, gather requirements, and determine if the application can be salvaged or if they need to re-write it from scratch. The successful candidate can communicate effectively with non-technical users to gather their requirements and then translate into technical terms. They need strong analytical skills to determine if the existing application can provide a base from which to build on. Consultant will need design and development skills, user acceptance testing, and implementation/training skills to educate users on the new application and it’s functionality. If it is determined by the developer the existing project can be salvaged, the consultant will spearhead the project through its implementation. If it is determined the application needs to be rewritten from scratch, the consultant will drive the full SDLC of creating a new replacement application from the ground up. Lastly, the candidate will need to have some database skills since there is no DBA on staff. All development is done in ColdFusion V.9 using IIS. They use ColdFusion Builder/Version Control and tag-based ColdFusion Code.
