The Sr. ColdFusion Developer is responsible for the
design and implementation of solutions to satisfy business and system
requirements of scalability, reusability, maintainability and
supportability. This position develops specifications and software for
highly complex applications and modifies/maintains the existing
platform. Must be capable of performing responsibilities independently,
as a team, and under direction of senior staff members.

programming for new applications

Requirements:
- Intermediate to advanced CFML

JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and AJAX required
- ColdFusion framework (MVC)

The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), a membership association created to advance the art and science of ophthalmic surgery and the knowledge and skills of ophthalmic surgeons, is seeking a Web Developer to manage all ASCRS-owned web and digital properties including coordination with appropriate vendors that any ASCRS website is linked to.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and maintain ASCRS websites in support of the goals and needs of ASCRS and its various departments.
- Develop new services and features to be offered to the appropriate ASCRS websites.
- Design, develop, and deploy e-communications and online membership surveys.
- Manage web hosting; monitor ASCRS websites; monitor website traffic; and tune ASCRS websites as appropriate to maximize appearance, ease of use, and traffic.
- Provide appropriate metric reporting and data through automated methodologies or adhoc requests.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in CIS or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2 to 4 years of directly-related work experience using web technologies and programming languages.
- Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, PHP, Drupal, MySQL. Nice to have ColdFusion, SQL Server.
- Working knowledge of Windows, IIS, Linux, Apache
- Some graphic design skills.
- Accomplished operating a PC using Microsoft software.

Description
Analyze,
design, develop and test ColdFusion and Oracle PL/SQL applications that
enhance USPS operations through the dissemination of pertinent and
relevant information in a timely and efficient manner. Specific
responsibilities include:
Develop
and revise program code based on clearly defined requirements.
Prepares documentation of program development, modifications to code as
needed. Test all functionality of applications and work with department
staff to derive test plans for system tests, integration tests and
stress tests. Assist in the set up of production environment including
application servers and database servers. Assist in the implementation
of applications into production. May be required to analyze system
capabilities to resolve input/output problems. Must be able to
communicate effectively, work in a team environment and think
analytically. Perform maintenance on programs currently in production.
Develop and maintain on-line applications and complex Oracle PL/SQL
stored procedures and functions. Provide programming direction as
necessary to lower level programmers as appropriate to position level.
Other duties as needed.
Required Skills:
- AAS Computer Science/Related Field; Desired: BS Degree - Computer Science/Related Field.
- 3 Years Minimum Experience in the following areas: ColdFusion, PLSQL HTML, DHTML, and Oracle PLSQL
