Announcing a new Meetup for The Online ColdFusion Meetup!
What: “Introduction to Sass (Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets)”, with Josh Timonen
Our 6pm (US ET) talk on Thursday July 14 will be “Introduction to Sass (Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets)”, with Josh Timonen.
TOPIC DESCRIPTION: (provided by the speaker)
Sass has been growing in popularity since Hampton Catlin first
introduced it in 2005. Sass, which stands for Syntactically Awesome
Style Sheets, helps you write less-verbose code with better
organization.
Originally a Ruby technology, Sass can help organize and streamline
any web application’s styling that uses CSS, including ColdFusion
projects. You’ll see what Sass has to offer, how to set it up, and how
to write it.
Come see what Sass, and it’s new variation SCSS, can do for your styling workflow.

Our 12pm (US ET) talk on Thursday Jun 9 will be “OAuth: demystified (hopefully)”, with Matt Gifford. We had technical difficulties during his April 14 presentation, so this is a rescheduling.
TOPIC DESCRIPTION: (provided by the speaker)
Since it’s conception in 2006/7, the Open Authorization access
protocol was geared towards providing a detailed, uniform method of
granting access permissions for API providers and consumers alike. Now
widely used amongst many global providers and rapidly replacing basic or
generic authentication protocols, it is truly becoming the standard
means of access authentication.
So why is it still as confusing as hell?
Join Matt Gifford, aka coldfumonkeh, as we look at the structure of
OAuth requests, the variety of authentication ‘flavours’ available to
use, and how to implement and consume access-restricted services through
the protocol in a bid to better understand exactly what OAuth is.
MEETING URL: http://experts.acrobat.com/cfmeetup/
DURATION: Approx. 1 hour
RECORDING: All meetings are recorded. The URL will be posted after meeting at recordings.coldfusionmeetup.com
SPEAKER: (provided by the speaker)

ColdFusion, Flex and AIR development. Having worked on projects for
organisations such as BT, Abbey Bank, United Nations Environment
Programme and Landrover UK, he also writes regularly for industry
publications including .net and Web Designer magazines, and is the
author of “Object-Oriented Programming in ColdFusion” published by PACKT
Publishing.
Matt is a regular speaker at conferences across Europe, and as an
Adobe Community Professional and User Group manager, really likes to
keep himself busy sharing the Adobe and ColdFusion love. When not
staring down a screen, Matt can sometimes be found gigging at pubs and
events or spending time with his family.”

It looks at the relationship between social networking, privacy,
permission boundaries and user adoption. We will discuss specific
social media components that audience members would include in their
